Tamara Levak Potrebica has been a free-lance conference interpreter since 1991.
Although she also works as translator and court interpreter, conference interpreting is her main profession. She has worked for a number of Croatian and international institutions, including the ICTY, Permanent Court of Arbitration, Council of Europe, and as an EU-accredited interpreter, she is regularly engaged by the EU institutions (Commission, Parliament, Court of Justice). She is a member of the AIIC (International Association of Conference Interpreters).
Tamara is the vice-president of the HDKP (Croatian Society of Conference Interpreters), the association which has been bringing together professional conference interpreters in Croatia for the past 41 years. The HDKP endeavours to win recognition for the profession of conference interpreter and promote internationally recognized standards of conference interpreting, necessary to ensure high quality of service. It also provides advice to conference organizers and assists young colleagues starting out in the profession.
